Its as good as Good Friday to me... bcos 2 miracles happened...

Miracle 1
Amist work... an email came in from the data recovery company which I have sent my HDD for data recovery asking me to collect my HDD!!! It has almost been a year, I had thot they lost my HDD in transit to Australia then to USA and back to SG...

I am surprised and called to ask if i could pick it up from them on the day itself... to my surprise they offered to courier it to me at no charge... to make my day even better... they had couriered the HDD to me in the office on the same day itself!!!

That HDD had contain alot of pictures, songs, documents, etc... and thou it cannot be recovered at the moment (i am hoping for new technology to recover it)... its safely back in my hands... my memories thou not readable... at least its still safely in my hands again...

Miracle 2
The last 2 sets to complete the LEGO Castle 2008 series which have been out of stock for months due to low SG allocation finally came in...

A friendly heads up from someone on the forum and my cousin... a couple of SMS to the shop's boss to secure the sets i want... and picked up from his shop... and yeah... i have completed the entire range of Castle 2008...

Not only got my memories back... also completed the entire range of Castle 2008... how to be not happy...

the only thing to be sad about... i am lacking one set to complete the entire range of Castle 2007... luckily i already reserved the last set with one of the shops owners, she still have stock for 2... prob the only 2 sets left in store in SG... so once she sell one set... i will go get the last set... haha... i wan to be the last in SG to own that set... a $200+ big castle which i feel that its not really worth the price...

Someone asked me how much have i spend to complete the Castle 2008 Series... so i did some maths... and yes... i am shocked that i had spend this much in the past 9 months...

 I have spend $1,618.00 in the past 9 months... that is just on the Castle 2008 sets only... its not including scattered purchases of loose pieces from ebay auctions, yahoo auctions, bricklink stores and shops... which i have lost track of how much exactly i have spent... as i am collecting vintages as well...

I was telling another AFOL that is a siong year for Castle and luckily i wasn't collecting Star Wars as well or rather i dropped Star Wars years ago... Star Wars being a licensed product cost more in general...

Pretty scary of you ask me... i just cannot imagine the my bi-weekly and sometimes monthly purchases can round up to this much...

Yes... as recommended by my project mate... i could jolly well retire early and slowly sell off my collection to earn a living during my retirement... Castle 2008 would be vintage in 22 years time (ya... i plan to retire by the age of 50...)... the first Castle set from 1978s is closing every other day for US$300 irregardless of condition of the set... in my stash... i have a couple of Castles from the 1990s... market price is already around US$100 to US$200... still i would love to have my hands on the vintage 1978 Castle one of these days... >p
